Crafty Sentiments New Baby & Crafty Cutter Die Release

Good morning and thanks for stopping by.

Finally today is the day that Crafty Sentiments release the NEW baby images which are really cute and come with some great sentiments as well as their new Crafty Cutter Die Cutting Shape's.

This week we all used different images from the release and for my card I used 'Lucy With Her Rattle' and the 'It's A Girl' sentiment that comes with it. I also used the first to be released 'Vintage Label' die and then the stamped fancy edge is from a set I think that set is called 'Thank You' but I will correct it once I have checked.

Ok our challenge this week is to use 'Banner's' on your creations, now banner's are really popular at the moment and there are a few dies around to use, you can cut one on the Cricut like I did on or each just cut triangle's out by hand. We really don't mind we would just love to see your creations.

Bitten By The Bug 2 Plus Karaoke Boy

Good evening all, thank you for popping by today.

Here I have my last couple of projects I have made with my Cricut.

Over at Bitten By The Bug 2 they have two challenges going on and I have combined the two together, I hope that is ok if not please delete my entries.
The first challenge was to use the cut 'Time 4 Fun' from the Cuttin Up cartridge but I don't have that one so made my own cut using Plantin Schoolbook. The second challenge is to create a project using the word 'Classroom'. Now both of these hard me stuck for a while but then as always I reverted back to my teaching days and made a reward chart.

This works best with young children probably reception year or maybe year 1, this is equivalent to Kindergarten I believe in the U.S. As you can see on the second picture I cut out 30 stars for the number of pupils in the class and the object is that once all the stars have made it onto the chart the children get a free session to do whatever activity they wish for the afternoon.

Classroom, rewards and time 4 fun were cut from Plantin Schoolbook and the books, scissors and glue are from Locker Talk. I actually cut the scissors, glue and books for another project but the person they were for changed her mind so they fitted nicely into this project.

This is how I love to see the chart, the children can write their initials on the stars if they want to. I have also changed shapes each time it has been filled in the past.

Supplies:-
Scrapbook Paper - Sugar Tree 'Steve's Pages SF13'
Card Stock - Bazzill
Cricut - Expression
Border Die - Xcut 'Scallops'
White Pen - Sakura

Other challenges I would like to enter this into:-
Simon Says Stamp - Dies To Die For
Craft Us Crazy - School or End Of Summer

My second project is a simple card for a boy and this is where I struggle with the Cricut because I always think my cards have too much white space lol. I used lots of different embossing folders on this card for texture and interest and all the cuts are from Paper Dolls For Everyday. Maybe one day I will be happy with this type of card. At least they come in handy for my god children's friends!

Supplies:-
6" Square Card Blank - Craft Superstore
Card Stock - Bazzill
Cricut - Expression
Embossing - Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots', 'Tiny Bubbles', 'Houndstooth' & 'Diamond Plate'

I will be back Tuesday with my project for the new release.

My Craft Spot Cricut Challenge & A Few Others

Good evening, when I saw the challenge at My Craft Spot of 'Fall Leaves' I knew immediately what I wanted to use. I have admired this frame from Pooh & Friends for ages but never really had reason to cut it and although I have no reason for it yet the challenge was enough to get me started lol. I have not added a sentiment as yet because I don't know who or what I shall use this for yet.

This is a larger than average 7" square card with the frame cut at 6" and tigger cut at 2.75". I was very brave and even inked all the leaves before sticking them down, although I admire this technique on other people's blog's it always frightens me to do it. I do actually love how it turned out though.

Supplies:-
Card stock - Bazzill
Cricut - Expression
Cartridge - Pooh & Friends
Ink - Momento 'Rich Cocoa'

Challenges I would like to enter this into:-
**I was a little unsure on a couple of challenges as I have not used a stamped image if incorrect please accept my apologies and delete, thanks.**

Cricut Halloween

Good morning, the weather is beautiful here today but the question is will it last into the weekend? Probably not is the usual not. Why does that happen we have lovely weather Monday to Friday but come the weekend when most people can get out we have dreadful weather.

Today I bring you the first of three Cricut only projects I have made although I did use stamps for the 'Boo' and the ghost face.
The challenge over at Bitten By The Bug 2 is to use Tags, Bags, Boxes & More to create a 3d project, I do not have this cart so made my own box instead.

I made this coffin treat box and added the little ghost element for a bit of fun and then stamped 'Boo' on the inside, the stamps I used for this I have had since I began crafting and they were still sealed, that is shameful isn't it! I also stamped the ghost's face using my Peachy Keen stamps. The orange trim is something else I have had forever, I picked it up in a charity shop thinking it would come in handy for Halloween but I think this is the first time I have used it.

Card Stock - Bazzill
Stamps - See D's 'Dot to Dot 50504' & Peachy Keen 'Funshine Faces PK-944'

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge

Good evening and thank you for popping by today.

As I have a few spare days I have decided my Cricut is going to become my friend and not my enemy when it comes to creating cards and projects. I have had my Cricut for nearly two years now and mainly use it to create mats and layers for my stamped image cards unless I am asked for that certain something from a customer or family member. I have seen a lot of lovely projects around blogland which is what has spurred me on and with that said here is my Cricut only card.

Some of you may remember the door plaque I made for my god son's bedroom HERE, well it turns out it is admired by some of his friends and in fact I have made three others for friends of his since.

With that in mind I went with this card for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge which this week is 'It's A Pirates Life'. I am sure it will get used in due course.

This is a 6" square card, the 'A Pirates Life For Me' sign was a freebie I got from Create With TLC and I think it is just perfect for my card. The skull and cross bones I made myself using SCAL 2 from a clipart image. I used glossy accents on the eye patch, eyes, nose and mouth and then enamel accents for the teeth. Plus I was really brave and edged the pirate sign and sentiment with a black ink pad.

Supplies:-
Card stock - Bazzill
Seniment - Computer Generated
Skull & Cross Bones - SCAL 2
Glossy & Enamel Accents - Ranger

Harvest Festival Baskets

Good evening all, I am so sorry my post didn't publish yesterday for the Crafty Sentiments Challenge and I didn't even realise until just now when I came to do this post!!
As of yesterday all Crafty Sentiments Challenges will be start on Tuesday's and this week saw the release of a new Halloween image which I was not able to use as I was away. However just for you I have a picture of the image that is on sale NOW as a digital download.
Her name is Annabel isn;t she the cutest witch ever!! So dig out those Halloween images and join in the challenge.

*****************************
On Monday my godchildren called in to see me after school to show me their new uniforms and for the little one to tell me all about his first day at school which was so nice of them but there was a con!!

My god daughter Thavisha asked 'Auntie Kim can you make me a basket to carry my acorns in for my church service play for Harvest Festival?' Of course I said yes and I was informed it needed tree's and had to be brown and orange or Autumn colours.
So I designed this basket in the new Cricut Craftroom using Heritage and Plantin Schoolbook Cartridges and quite enjoyed making it. It was designed to fit a whole 12" x 12" sheet. The orange liner was made separately using Plantin Schoolbook and then just slotted into the basket. I used three different seam binding ribbons plated together to make the handle and I have just added some tissue paper inside for the photo.
I have just noticed in the photo that the two tree's have come unlinked, they were linked by extended an arm of the branch to stick behind the branch of the next tree. I can take another photo if needed.

Off trotted Thavisha to school this morning pleased as punch with her basket and when they called after school I immediately thought she had broken it and needed a repair but oh no that would of been so easy. 'Auntie Kim can I have 47 more of these baskets, my teacher has given me the card and some glue for you' well I nearly fell off my chair laughing, it is a good job I know her teacher, she used to be a colleague of mine in my teaching days and knew I couldn't say no if Thavisha asked!!
So if I don't reappear for the next week or so you know why lol.
