My Time To Craft 'No Design Paper' Challenge

Good morning everyone, well they have said we will get sunshine today but it has yet to arrive! I am anxious to see it and feel it on my skin lol.

So back to the matter in hand, I am here with my card for the new challenge this week at My Time To Craft which is 'No Designer/Pattern Papers' so inks, stamps etc only. My card was a special order for my mum, her old neighbour turns 90 today and is having a big party and her son requested only 'handmade card & or gift' as she has everything and wants for nothing he thought this was a better present and I have to agree I like this idea.

I started by cutting the stencil background on my Silhouette which was similar to the pattern on a planter which I also vinyled for her but forgot to take a photo of. I inked this with spun sugar distress ink, I then cut the doily layers and border from a matching set. A couple of little accents and it was done.

Supplies:-
5" x 7" Card Blank - Natalie & Amy
Die Cut Stencil - Daisy Flower Overlay #44383 by Elizabeth Mayne
Lace, Ribbon, Slider & Dragonflies - My Stash

Here is the inside, left plain except for a little stencilling in the corner which is actually pink but the weather was so rainy when I took these.

That is all from me, I am off to find a frame for the photo's I showed in yesterdays post plus some other's to make a great grandmother gift for my mum's birthday in a couple of weeks.

Have a great weekend all and please pop by the challenge blog to see the other ladies makes.

Natalie & Amy 'Four Legged Friends' Challenge

Good morning all. I hope you are all well and enjoying the school holidays, the weather is it's usual awful self so that the kids are stuck indoors again.

I am here today with another card for the Natalie & Amy Challenge and this month we are concentrating on our '4 Legged Friends' so any animal with 4 legs! As a lot of you know I have 2 dogs so went with this adorable Crafter's Companion image called 'Friend Everyday'. Isn't he the cutest dog ever? I haven't put a sentiment on it yet as it wasn't made with anyone in particular in mind. I cut the paw border on my Silhouette Cameo and also cut a bone one as I couldn't decide which to use so thought I would add a couple of the waste bones to this card too.

Supplies:-
6" Square Card Blank - Natalie & Amy's
Card Stock - Bazzill
Designer Papers - First Edition 'Isabelle'
Pearls - Home Bargains
Pearl Pick Up - Stix 2 Pick Up Pencil

I had a lovely surprise visit from my daughter and granddaughter on Tuesday and Wednesday, my son in law was working away so they took a trip too. Here they are, Vicki was trying to keep Mia awake as we were waiting for my other grandchildren to get themselves together for a group photo.

A photo of all five together for the first time

& last one here is 6 month old Mia giving a very nervous 22 month old Harley a kiss. That is my eldest son Jason holding Mia and me on the floor with Harley.

Look at those chunky thighs, just how I like to see a baby lol. They grow so fast.

Well that is all from me for today, don't forget to pop over to the challenge blog to see the other creations.

My Time To Craft 'Tile Effect' Challenge

Good morning all, the weather has been a bit hit and miss this week but hoping it will be better next week.

So this week at My Time To Craft we are challenging you to the 'Tile Effect', this is something that I have never done before and didn't find the easiest to do due to the pieces being small and my hands not wanting to cooperate! I used a fairly big stamp thinking that would be easier. I stamped my image and then cut it into pieces on my Silhouette machine, next I did a small offset and cut that in blue card stock and another offset of all the pieces together to get the red mat. Imagine was coloured with Promarkers & Flexmarkers. A little baker's twine and ribbon finished it off.

Supplies:-
6" Scalloped Square Card Blank - Natalie & Amy's
Card Stock - Bazzill
Baker's Twine - Echo Park
Ribbon - Local Haberdashery Store

Promarkers & Flexmarkers Used:-
Bear - Nutmeg, March Hare & Light Fawn
Balloons - Agean, Cyan, Celestial Blue, Sky Blue, Arctic Blue, Glacier Blue, Chilli Red, Poppy, Red Rooster, Antique Pink, Dusky Rose & Tea Rose

My Time To Craft 'Outdoor Sports' Challenge

Good morning all.

This week at My Time To Craft we are challenged to 'Outdoor Sports' so football, rugby, fishing, golf etc etc.  When I first thought of this challenge the only image that came to mind is the one I used on my first card of a young lad and his fishing rod, after making the card I remembered the second card I made for my step grandson's birthday so thought I would post them both.

For the first card, I didn't like the fact that there was only a fishing rod and felt it needed something else. I found a couple of fish and cut them out on my silhouette cameo, then I very nicely asked my husband if he had a bit of fishing line with a hook attached that I could 'borrow'. He got me out the line first about a metre of it and then asked what sized hook I wanted, his face was a picture when I showed him my two fish that I wanted caught lol. I do think they finish the card off nicely although it will have to go with an accident advisory attached looking at the hook!

Supplies:-
6" Card Blank - Natalie & Amy's
Card Stock - Bazzill
Designer Paper - My Minds Eye Miss Caroline 'Dolled Up'
Image - Sweetpea Stamps 'Bobby's Day Out'
Sentiment - Crafter's Companion Mulberry Wood 'Fishing'
Medium - Promarkers & Flexmarkers
Die Cuts - Fishing Charms #12719 by Snapdragon Snippets
Corners - Zutter Corner Round It All

Promarkers & Flexmarkers Used:-

Skin - Sunkissed Pink, Dusky Pink & Almond
Hair - Auburn, Chestnut & Terracotta
Dungaree's - Marine, Island Lagoon, Turquoise & Metallic Silver
Plaster - March Hare
Hankie - Red, Lipstick Red & Pineapple Crush
Fishing Rod - Walnut, Cocoa & Tan
Leaves & Grass - Leaf Green & Grass
Wheat - Khaki

Finally here is my other card which is definitely more sport's like. Samuel is a huge football fan and Tottenham Hotspur supporter so I had to make it in the relevant colours. I made this so that the shirt had a triangle back to it, ensuring it would stand up yet leave enough room for me to write a message on. The card is 7" x 5".

Supplies:-
Card Stock - Lidl
Die Cuts - Football Jersey #47211 by Studio Ilustado, Soccer Card #38648 by Snapdragon Snippets Name was Arial & Number was Aharoni.

Challenges I would like to enter these into:-
A Creative Romance - One For The Boys
Crafty Catz - Just For Sport

My Time Craft 'Recipe' Challenge

Good morning all, isn't this weather rubbish someone bring the sunshine back please. David and I had a lovely few days last week with our daughter and granddaughter although I am not sure how we got roped into babysitting on 2 occasions in such a short time especially when our son in law was at work for most of it lol.

Ok so this week at My Time To Craft we have a recipe for you, no need to get your cooking utensils out unless you want to of course! We have a list of items you can use and you must use at least 3 of them.
Here is the list:-
2 Images
Stripy Paper
3 or More Eyelets
Double Bow (Ribbon, Twine or Cord Etc)
Gate Fold Card
Easel Card
Blue
3 Flowers
3 Buttons

For my card which I made for my neighbour whose birthday was yesterday I used Stripy Paper, Blue & 3 Buttons. I was really stuck for what to make and had looked down the RAF route because he is in that and couldn't find anything that related to what he did, then came across a card on Pinterest and it gave me the inspiration for this. The heart buttons were part a of a joke we were having with him. My papers are all digital downloads from the Silhouette store and I love that the pattern shrinks to fit the shape you want to put it on, it is not so obvious on the chevron but the striped bit is more so if you look between the banner ends.

Supplies:-
6" Card Blank - Natalie & Amy's
Card Stock - Bazzill
Designer Papers - Just Us #42032 & Spring Paper #41180 by Digital Pink Ink
Bakers Twine - My Craft Spot

That is all for today, please hop over to the challenge blog HERE to see all the other gorgeous creations.

Silhouette 'Gift Bag' Challenge

It's the time for another challenge over at

Ch# 13 Gift Bag (No Boxes)
Begins: Thursday, May 1
Ends: Saturday, May 31

A blog dedicated to the Silhouette Cutting Machines.
You MUST use a Silhouette somehow in your project.

Sponsor this month is:

Vinyl Ease 30 Sheets of Permanent Adhesive Backed Vinyl for Craft Cutters,
6 by 12-Inch, Assorted

I had been wanting to make one of these bags since I first saw them in the Silhouette Store but had no reason to do so, then my daughter in law showed me a little collection of notes Sophie had been hiding away. I knew this was the perfect bag for her to hide all her little notes in and keep them safe.

When you get the 2 Strap Purse by Samantha Walker for this bag all the pieces fit on one 12" x 12" sheet but I wanted it to be two tone and to save me messing around I just cut everything out of my two colours. I then realised that as I had used a double sided sheet of paper I could make two different bags and here the are.

After everything was cut I ran the red bazzill pieces through my gand calibur with spellbinders embossing folder and then applied a coat of Mod Podge to them all to give them  that gloss finish and I have to say they look so much better in real life. My buckles and hinges are gold just like the brads but do not look so in the photo I'm afraid, there are also 4 gold brads on the base of the bag that act as feet and the buckle has a magnetic clip to keep for opening and closing.

I was going to keep the other bag to use as an actual gift bag however Sophie had another idea and wanted to give it to her best friend who she swaps notes with. I think that is really sweet and also educational as they are only 7 and getting good practice with both writing and spelling.

Supplies:-
Card Stock - Bazzill
Embossing - Spellbinders
Clasp - Magnets

Silhouette Special Challenge UseRhinestone's

"Special Challenge - Use Rhinestones" over at

This is in addition to our regular monthly challenge.

DT members were not required to participate.
We have 4 participating.

Sponsor is:

Winner will receive:
Silhouette Rhinestone Template Kit

As soon as I saw that Silhouette were bringing out a kit to create items using rhinestone's I knew I had to have it. I love the effect rhinestone's gives to something.

I ended up making two projects the first was this bag which I made as a practice and a bit of a joke to my mum. My mum often takes me out shopping and is forever calling me all sorts of names before she gets to mine, I wouldn't mind but I am her only child lol. I used three different sized stones on this, I think you can make out from the photo that the heart is size 10ss, the I and M are 16ss and the K is 20ss.

Supplies:-
Linen Shopper - Ebay
Rhinestone Templates - Cute Rhinestone Heart Swirl #6625 by Samantha Walker (I offset it which gave this lovely effect) & the lettering was the classic alpha's that came as part of the kit.

My second item I made for Sophie my step granddaughter who loves ladybirds and so once I saw the template I knew it would be perfect. It was made with two sizes of stone most of it is size 16ss and then I added 3 size 20ss to the tips of each antennae for extra effect.

The outline shape is red and the spots are pink, I was going to do them black but once Sophie saw the pink version in the Silhouette store that was what she wanted. Here is a closer view, you may just be able to work out the colours in this photo.

Supplies:-
T-Shirt - Lidl
Rhinestone Template - Ladybug #6018 by Evan Ehat

Now hop on over to see what my DT sister have created for you inspiration and to link up your Rhinestone projects.

I decided on this 3d style of card and although it is 3d it will still fit in a normal envelope. My card measures 5" x 7" and the card base was created using Samantha Walker Pop Up Flowers #42258 and the big flower was made using Jamie Cripps Double Inpatiens Flower #56551 but it didn't turn out quite like it should lol. I think the problem was I used white card stock and inked it but that made it loose some of it's stiffness and I then couldn't shape it very well. The card stock is all Bazzill and the pearl is from my stash.
