Papertake Weekly Challenge

This card was made at the special request of a friend whose 2 year old son starts at 'Pirates Nursery' this week. The colours of the card are the nursery colours and the image was drawn by my friend from the nursery logo. Now whether I have the right colours in the right place is beyond me but her little boy was very happy with his card and I also made one the same but for his teacher which again was also loved so something must of been right lol. To make this card I have followed the Papertake Weekly Challenge 'sketch'.

Supplies:-

  • 6" square card blank - Craft Superstore
  • Designer Paper - Papermania 'For Him'
  • Cardstock - Paper Mill Shop
  • Image - Hand drawn
  • Sentiment - Papermania 'Clare Crud Signature Range'
  • Medium - Promarkers

Sketch Saturday, One Stop Crafts & Secret Crafter Saturday Challenges

Today my card is very different from the 'norm' as I have used the colours from Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge which are 'Turquoise & Brown', colours that are never heard of from me until now lol. I have also used this little Magnolia Tilda character which again is a rarity as I can never make up my mind if I like these characters or not but she fitted in perfectly with the theme of 'I believe in Angels/Fairies over at One Stop Crafts Challenge. Then just to complete my card I chose the great sketch from Sketch Saturday Challenge. I have not attached a sentiment yet as I am not sure who will receive this.

Supplies:-

  • 6" square card blank - Craft Superstore
  • Designer Paper - Daisy & Dandelion 'Picnic Patch' (coloured with promarkers)

The Sugar Bowl Challenge & My Surprise Candy Winnings

Here is my entry for The Sugar Bowl Challenge, I have used yet again my sweet 'Daisy' stamp. I just cannot get enough of her just lately she fits into so many occasions and as this card is for my daughter it was perfect because it so reminds me of her when she was little. Vicki my daughter was not really a girlie girl although that may have something to do with having 3 brothers but she always looked a real cutie and yes her her really was that yellow (she still is very blonde but at least it has dulled down somewhat now).

Apart from following the great sketch by Judy we were to use handmade flowers which I did by layering up 2 different woodware punches.

Supplies:-

  • A5 Card Blank - Craft Superstore
  • Designer Papers - DCWV ?Blossoms & Butterflies
  • Cardstock - Paper Mill Shop
  • Stamp - Sugar Nellie 'Daisy'
  • Medium 'Promarkers'
  • Sentiment - Computer Generated
  • Punch - Woodware small & medium 'Daisy'
  • Embossing - Cuttlebug 'D'vine Swirls'
  • Gems - Anita's gem wheel & stash.
Look what the postman brought me this morning, I won Jane Carroll's surprise candy and wow was I surprise what I got. Thank you Jane it is all lovely. It must be my lucky week as I won all this, plus I won a voucher for Baker Ross in the Passion For Promarkers challenge & then won some lovely flowers from Sarah Card Oasis (I will post a photo when they arrive).
Thank you all.

Sketch & Stash, Papertake Weekly, Creative Inspirations & Stamp Something Challenges

Here is the first of three birthday cards I need to make for my daughter's birthday from her brothers and then of course I have to make our card (that will probably be the night before her birthday lol). I have made this card A5 sized as I find these popcorn bears too big for the 6" square cards following the sketch from Sketch & Stash, for this challenge I used my new popcorn bear stamp. I have managed to fit this card into a few other challenges these being Papertake Weekly 100 Challenges Take Your Pick and I picked 27th April 2009 'Spots & Strips', Creative Inspirations 'Spots, Dots & Circles' and Stamp Something ' Birthday Something'. Now that I have added the photo I have just noticed that I have layered my card wrongly hope it still counts??

Supplies:-

  • A5 Card Blank - Craft Superstore
  • Designer Papers - Papermania 'Sweet Nothings'
  • Cardstock - Paper Mill Shop

  • Sentiment (Sister) - Papermania Rub On's coloured with Promarkers

Over at Sketch Saturday there is a great sketch to work with, I really enjoyed this sketch although I did rotate it. I have also used the theme from One Stop Crafts which is to use the colours 'Pink & Black'. I have not made a card in these colours for ages and had forgotten just how much I like them. I love to use this Sugar Nellie stamp for two tone cards, it doesn't matter what two colours you use they always seem to fit this image. I have left the sentiment off until I am ready to use this card.

The Cuttlebug Spot Challenge

The challenge over at The Cuttlebug Spot is to make an 'You Are Invited' invitation, now I have never made an invitation before and didn't have a clue what to type to make but I remembered someone telling me how they were going to a decorating party and so with that in mind I set out to make my invite.
I have not used a template or cricut to do any of it which is why it had to be pretty straight forward, I am hopeless at designing from my head I just cannot put to paper what I can visualize.
In the bottom photo which shows the inside of the invite I have managed to cut off the top section of the roof, the bit that flaps over (I didn't realise until I added the photo onto here although you are not missing much it is only the same as the outside).
This is my first time playing along at The Cuttlebug Spot so hope I have followed the theme correctly.

Supplies:-

  • Base white cardstock - Paper Mill Shop
  • Layered Cardstock - Mainly Coredinations
  • Square Brad (door knob) - Paper Mill Shop
  • Cuttlebug Embossing Folder - Houndstooth
  • Wording - Computer Generated.

Kaboodle, Dutch Dare, Funky Fairys, Cuttlebug & Stamping For The Weekend Challenges

I had had a look through the challenges available but was still not convinced what I wanted to make, I had already decided I was going to try something different, something that I had not done before. Then I saw the Kaboodle Doodles Challenge of 'Windows' and the Cuttlebug Challenge of 'Create A Scene' and I knew then what I was going to make but of course I had to have a look and see what other challenges I could fit into it lol . These were Dutch Dare 'Christmas In August', Funky Fairys 'Christmas' & Stamping For The Weekend 'Days Gone By'.

I decided to create my scene as the outside view of a window dressed at Christmas time with the inside visible of a vintage child dressing the tree.

My something differents that I want to try soon mounted up, they were 1. to create a scene 2. to work with acetate 3. to mask properly (and I dont think I could of chose a harder stamp) & 4. to incorporate die cuts in my cards.

View From The Top (although my window looks wonky but it isn't)

It Is Just Not On.....

I would just like to say ''its not on'', my husband got sent to Egypt at a moments notice and had to take my laptop with him and as most of you know my laptop is my lifeline to the outdoor world. Even though we have three other computers in this house I cannot use them as I a. cannot get to them and b. even if I could I couldn't sit at them. I shouldn't complain because it was a working trip and he has now been and brought one for himself just incase it happens again. I felt like my arm had been cut off without it, you just don't realise how much you use them until you are without them.
I have not made any cards either since David has been away but that was not his fault lol but because my mum came to stay to care for me and she has taken me out every day, oh how I miss going out (I can only go out now when someone takes me and as I have no family near it is abit of a pain with David working six days a week) Although that does mean more crafting days so not such a bad thing. I will leave you here with a commissioned card I made just as he left.

Supplies:-

  1. A5 sized card - Craft Superstore
  2. Papers - Kaboodle Doodles 'Old' Kit
  3. Mats - Paper Mill Shop
  4. Embossing - Cuttlebug 'With Love'
  5. Sentiments - Computer Generated
  6. Decoupage Sheet - I can't remember ???
  7. Gems & Pearls - From Stash

I hope you like it and normal service will resume shortly.
