My Time To Craft 'Farmyard Animals' Challenge

Good morning to you. What happened to our mild Autumn it has suddenly become freezing overnight and I don't like that especially as we are having fireworks and a bbq today for our two grandchildren's birthday which were yesterday and tomorrow. Not that we particularly feel like it as both David and I have been ill all week with man flu/swollen glands and no voice, can you guess who has what lol. I am still also struggling with the fallout from my methadone being stopped and the morphine being started.

Anyhow I am here today with my post for this weeks challenge at My Time To Craft which is 'Farmyard Animals' not an easy one and I confess I struggled as I didn't have a single image that suited the challenge so I had to put my Silhouette Cameo to work. I found this little lamb while searching the store and thought it was quite cute with it's sentiment so here it is.

I have had these embossed cards in my stash forever and rarely get to use them but decided this little ewe looked better as a clean and simple card rather than layers. I gave her a little edging with some Old Paper Distress Ink just to make her stand out from the white background. I was trying to work out how best I could bring the embossing out without making my lamb fade into the background. I added a little Mod Podge to the hearts just because I had it out but they actually look quite nice.

Supplies:-
5" Square Embossed Card Blank - Dovecraft I think but as I said I have had them forever
Card Stock - Bazzill
Die Cut - Ewe Are Special #55417 by Sarah Bailey
Gloss - Mod Podge

Challenges I would like to enter this into:-
A Crafty Mess - Anything Goes 05/12
Art Impressions - Zoo or Animal 20/11

That's all from me, see you soon.

Silhouette 'Gift Bag' Challenge

It's the time for another challenge over at

Ch# 13 Gift Bag (No Boxes)

A blog dedicated to the Silhouette Cutting Machines.
You MUST use a Silhouette somehow in your project.

I had been wanting to make one of these bags since I first saw them in the Silhouette Store but had no reason to do so, then my daughter in law showed me a little collection of notes Sophie had been hiding away. I knew this was the perfect bag for her to hide all her little notes in and keep them safe.

When you get the 2 Strap Purse by Samantha Walker for this bag all the pieces fit on one 12" x 12" sheet but I wanted it to be two tone and to save me messing around I just cut everything out of my two colours. I then realised that as I had used a double sided sheet of paper I could make two different bags and here the are.

After everything was cut I ran the red bazzill pieces through my gand calibur with spellbinders embossing folder and then applied a coat of Mod Podge to them all to give them  that gloss finish and I have to say they look so much better in real life. My buckles and hinges are gold just like the brads but do not look so in the photo I'm afraid, there are also 4 gold brads on the base of the bag that act as feet and the buckle has a magnetic clip to keep for opening and closing.

I was going to keep the other bag to use as an actual gift bag however Sophie had another idea and wanted to give it to her best friend who she swaps notes with. I think that is really sweet and also educational as they are only 7 and getting good practice with both writing and spelling.

Supplies:-
Card Stock - Bazzill
Embossing - Spellbinders
Clasp - Magnets
