Crafty Sentiments Week 11 Challenge DT Card

Good morning all, firstly I must apologise for the lack of posting around here at the moment. Things are gradually gettting back to normal but I just haven't felt like making too many cards. However it is Sunday and that means it is time for another challenge over at Crafty Sentiments.

This week we are challenged to use the given sketch and to add 'buttons' as our extra. For my card I decided to go bright and cheerful so I used my 'Teddy With Flowers' stamp, along with one of the many birthday sentiments available from the Crafty Sentiments Shop. My papers are from the DCWV 'Citrus Stack', then I have used some angel hair, lace, buttons, thread and a brad from my stash. The flower shape was cut from the Accent Essentials cartridge at 4" and I can't remember which one was used for the window tag but it was cut at 2".

Thanks for stopping by please hop over to the Crafty Sentiments blog and see all the other fabulous creations from the rest of the design team. We would love you to join us in our challenges, you don't have to have Crafty Sentiments stamps but if you do we would love to see you using them.

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge & Cuttlebug Challenge.

I had been sitting here wondering what I could make for this week's Fantabulous Challenge where the theme is to 'Create an Easter themed project using a Pastel color palette' when my friend called and asked if I with the help of my Cricut was capable of making an Easter Parade banner for her 2 year old's nursery school. Well of course I immediately I took up the challenge and it solved my issue of what to make for the Fantabulous Challenge. I think this also works for the Cuttlebug Challenge's challenge of 'Spring'. The Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge I used in this project was won from the Cuttlebug Challenge a couple of months ago so you never know if you join in you too could win a nice prize.

I have threaded some lace through the banner just for effect but the nursery are going to add string to it. I have also photographed it on the floor of my craftroom as I didn't want to stick it all to the walls only to be taken straight back down. Be warned there are quite a few photo's for this one.

So without further ado here is the banner in full.

A close up of the bunny which was cut at 7", the basket which was cut at 3" and the eggs are just 1" ovals as I did not have any eggs on my cartridges.

Here is the chick which was cut at 4.5", it didn't have any feet so I just added some myself.

Here are a couple of close up of the flags, these were cut at 5" with the lettering cut at 2". The flowers were cut at 1", 1.5" and 1.75" and the butterflies at 1".

I used Plantin Schoolbook, Everyday Paper Dolls and Accent Essentials for this project.

Crafty Sentiments Challenge DT Card Week 10

Good morning all, it's Sunday so that means it's time for another challenge over at Crafty Sentiments. This week we were challenged to use the sketch below which I rotated and then use the addition of 'Monochromatic Colours' now this is a first for me, I have never made a card before using all one colour. I decided to use all shades of purple,  I even coloured my teddy purple by very lightly adding colour and then using my blender pen to move it around. For some reason my flowers don't look very coloured but they are shades of lilac and lavendar.

For this card I used:-
6" Square card blank - Craft Superstore
Designer papers - Papermania 'Amethyst Infusion'
Cardstock - Paper Mill Shop
Sentiment - Crafty Sentiments
Medium - Promarkers
Cricut Accent Essentials - flowers
Cricut Plantin Schoolbook - Arrow (three arrows welded and contours hidden).

Please pop over the Crafty Sentiments blog and have a look at the other design teams work and then you too can join in with this weeks challenge to win a prize.

A New Challenge..........

A bloggy friend of mine Christine aka 'Change of Heart' has been chosen to be on the design team for a new challenge blog called Fantabulous Cricut. I know I will probably not to be able to join in each week as I am new to the cricut and only have three cartridges at the moment so thought I would attempt this weeks challenge. Mind you it is my birthday today I have just been given some money to buy more so watch this space lol.
This weeks challenge is to include a word and shape on your project:
the word required is "Birthday"
the shape required is a "Balloon"
Here is what I came up with, it is a birthday treat box that was cut from Plantin Schoolbook:-

I cut the box at fit to page size and I think that was 7" which is quite big but it fits a large bag of sweets nicely inside. I cut the words from Plantin Schoolbook after I had welded them in design studio. The girl and her clothing was cut at 3" from Everyday Paper Dolls and then the balloons were cut from the same cartridge at 4". I stuck my lettering, the girl and the balloon strings flat and then placed foam pads on the back of the balloons.
Whilst making this I learnt that I should of placed my cardstock the wrong way down on my mat so that the score marks were on the inside.

Crafty Sentiments Challenge DT Card

Today, see the start of a new challenge over at Crafty Sentiments and it was our goal to follow the beautiful sketch drawn by Suzette and use the following additions of '2 designer papers'.

For my card I used the stamp called 'Boy with flowers' available from the Crafty Sentiments Shop. He has been coloured with Promarkers and I then added different coloured stickles to some of the flowers. My 2 designer papers are from K&Co 'Sparkly Sweet' range and the green cardstock is from the Paper Mill Shop. My sentiment which is available from Crafty Sentiments is one that instead of using in one line I split up so as to fit into my flower.

Crafty Calendar March Challenge 'Flower Power.

Apologies for some reason this did not post yesterday as it should have.

Well I am back I had a lovely rest whilst at respite and my family are nearly all recovered. Have spent a couple of days sorting out my youngest son's change of school which is not easy during GCSE years but had to be done as he just wasn't getting anywhere at his current school. Just got to collect his new uniform on Monday and then it looks like he will start the following Monday.
Anyhow enough of all that, here is my design team card for Crafty Calendar Challenges and this month the theme is 'Flower Power' wtih the added option of using 'Pastel Colours'. As I said in my last post I now have a lovely new Cricut Expression machine and so I had a play with it on Wednesday to create this card, it is not perfect but for a first time I am happy.

Please excuse the paper clip on this next photo I just used it to keep it closed as it was still wet when I took the photo.
Supplies:-
A5 Card Blank - Craft Superstore
Designer Papers - Papermania 'Blueberry Hill'
Cardstock - Paper Mill Shop
Stamp - Crafty Sentiments 'Teddy With Flowers'
Medium - Promarkers
Wording - Cricut 'Plantin Schoolbook'
Frame - Cricut 'Accent Essentials'

This card also fits into three other challenges which are:-
Simon Says - Mother's Day/Girly
