Crafty Sentiments Designs 'Vintage' Challenge

SORRY PEOPLE I THOUGHT BLOGGER HAD BEEN TOO GOOD FOR TOO LONG!! THIS SHOULD OF BEEN POSTED AT 9AM.

Good morning ladies nice of you to have stopped by.

This week our challenge at Crafty Sentiments Designs is 'Vintage' and oh what a week I have had with that, this has been a real real challenge for me. I see Suzette's images as cutie's and cuddly's and don't associate them with that type of theme but hey ho it had to be done lol. So therefore this could be your one and only chance at seeing a 'vintage' style card (I use that term loosely) on this blog!!!
Are you ready?? here it is, I am so not sure if I like it.

Did you notice I took my scissors to the edges of the papers (that is so alien)  and even inked everything.

Supplies:-
6" Square Card Blank - Craft Superstore
Cardstock - Paper Mill Shop
Designer Papers - Papermania 'Simply Elegant' (I had to dig deep for those)
Image - Crafty Sentiments Digi 'Poppy & Henry' - flipped, isn't fun you can do this with digi's

I would also like to enter this into the Create 4 Fun Challenge as it was their great sketch which I used.

Going Buggy Party Time

This is my second post today so if you are looking for Flaunt It Friday you will find it below this post.
Hello again people.
If you didn't know Enfys aka Going Buggy is having a party this week on her blog and she is asking for us to do various things to party along with her. One of her requests is to make a card with 'Bugs' on and that is bugs in the loosest fashion!! I didn't think I had any cartridges with bugs on and was going through my stamps looking for inspiration when I suddenly thought Pooh & Friends must have a honey pot.

This is what I came up with, the bees are a little tiny but you get the picture.

Supplies:-
6" Square Card Blank - Craft Superstore
Cardstock - Bazzill
Cricut - Provocraft

Cricut Cuts:-
Branch, Hive & All Layers - Pooh & Friends 4 3/4"
Text - Plantin Schoolbook 1"

Flaunt It Friday Challenge

Good afternoon all thanks for stopping by.

I am still playing catch up with all my orders from when I was flat on my back and so trying to make them to fit challenges as I go. When I saw the challenge over at Flaunt It Friday was to use the 'skull and cross bones' cut from Mini Monster's it reminded me my god son had asked for a new door plaque for his 'big boys bedroom'. He is only three and having a Pirates of the Caribbean theme room.
I don't have the Mini Monsters cartridge so look to see where else I could find the necessary part, I only had one on Pooh & Friends and really didn't like it. So I found this image on the internet and turned it in an SVG cutting file in Sure Cuts Alot 2.

The plaque is 10 1/2" long by 7 3/4" tall. I made the black base by welding two shapes together in SCAL 2, then cut them from chipboard first and cardstock on top. I added enamel accents to the eye patch and tooth to make them shine and stand out.

Supplies:-
Chipboard - Crunchy Nut Cornflakes Box
Cardstock - Bazzill
Gloss Shine - Ranger 'Enamel Accents' in Black & White.
Cricut - Provocraft
SCAL 2 - Craft Edge

Cricut Cuts:-
Plaque - 10 1/2" x 7 3/4"
Skull & Crossbones - 5 1/2"
Lettering - Name 1 7/8" Room 1 1/2"

With the left over piece after cutting Inuka I made this bookmark as he has just started to bring his reading book home from nursery and thought he may like it. I was going to put the same skull on the back of it but wasn't sure the teacher would appreciate it in the classroom!!

I made a door plaque for his sister my god daughter just a little while ago but she now tells me she needs a new one like her brother's but with Hello Kitty on it so watch this space lol.

More Than Favours Challenge

Good afternoon ladies. I hope you are all enjoying the weekend.

Today I have a little card and gift box for you to view which I made using my Cricut.

My daughter asked me if I would make a gift box for one of her service users who wanted to propose to his neighbour. This gentleman is 82 bless him and his neighbour is thought to be approximately 75, he has asked her to marry him so many times but she keeps refusing saying she can never replace her deceased husbands ring. So for Valentine's Day he got my daughter to buy loads of bags of Haribo sweets just so he could take out all the rings from them. He has 365 rings and says that the lady in question won't have to replace her much loved husband's ring she can eat one of his everyday lol. Not sure what she gets next year!!
You have to laugh at it but they are both such a lovely couple and adore my daughter like a grand daughter. My daughter is going into full time university in February to finish her nursing course and she has told this gentleman that he will be getting a new nurse but he was not happy at all, she has had to promise to continue to go and see him but not everyday like she now does lol.

This is the gift box and tag which was all I set out to make but then I used an idea I got from Diane over at Capadia Designs which is to use the negative of a cut to make something else. That means no waste and these left overs were so pretty. I kept the pieces left on my Cricut mat after I had taken off all the pieces I needed to make the gift box and used these to make the little card below.

Supplies:-
Cardstock - Bazzill
Cricut - Provocraft
Cricut Design Studio - Provocraft
Rub On - Poundland
Heart Gems - Stash

Cricut Cuts:-
All from the Wedding Cartridge
Pillow Box - 7 1/2" with detail contour hidden
Scalloped Heart - 3"
Ornamental Heart - 2 3/4"
Tag - 2"
This was all laid out on the Cricut Design Studio to get the right sizes to fit and hide the selected contours.

I would like to enter this into the Wacky Wednesday Challenge where Paula set the challenge of 'Gift & Treat Bags'.

Fantabulous Cricut & Peachy Keen Challenge

Good morning all, I hope the weather is being kind to you where ever you may be in the world. My very dear friend is in the middle of all the floods in Brisbane, Australia and although her and her family are safe as they are on fairly high ground she says the devastation all around them is awful and being a nurse she is having to deal with it first hand. I wish all those people effected a safe return home.

Anyhow, enough of my rambling today I have a card for you that I made following the Peachy Keen Challenge 'sketch' and the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge theme of 'Winter Warmies' e.g any type of clothing or accessory that keeps us warm in winter. This had me a little stuck to start with because all I could think of was Christmas card's but I have had enough of those for a while then I remembered my hubby's friend's birthday in February and he is an avid skier who spends every birthday on the slopes and thought this would be perfect.

I am really trying to use my Cricut more this year as I don't think I use it anywhere near as much as I could, so it was all I used for this card!! I was going to use flower soft on the mitten cuffs and hat brim and bobble but decided to try out some Enamel Accents which I have had forever lol and I quite like the effect.

Supplies:-
6" Square Card Blank - Craft Superstore
Designer Papers - Unknown they were a gift
Cardstock - All Bazzill and Bazzill Bling
Shine on Cuffs & Hat - Ranger Enamel Accents 'white'
Cricut - Provocraft
SCAL 2 - Craft Edge

Cricut Cuts:-
Circles - Accent Essentials Purple 3.6" Lilac 3.2"
Hat - Everyday Paper Dolls 1.5"
Mittens - Everyday Paper Dolls 1.2"
Skies - Everyday Paper Dolls 4.2"
Font - SCAL 2 'Cooper Md BT' 1" & Blackout Shadow +3.00
Everything was layed out using Design Studio and SCAL 2.

Good morning all. I hope the weather is being kind to you wherever you are, here on the East Coast of England it is very wet almost sleety yuk!!

Today brings us to the first challenge of 2011 for Crafty Calendar Challenges and this month our challenge is 'New Beginnings' that can include new year, new baby, new home or engagement/wedding etc. The optional extra this month is to 'Use A Border Punch' which you will notice I didn't use this month.

This month we are being sponsored by Janet at Pink Gem Designs and the winner will receive 4 digi images. If you pop over to the Crafty Calendar Challenge Blog you will see that some of the design team used Janet's designs on their gorgeous cards.

Here is my new baby card which I was asked to make for a baby boy who weighed in at less than 2lb's, that's not even as big as a bag of sugar. The parents were told he wasn't likely to last a week due to so many complications but thankfully he is still going strong, proved the doctors wrong and proved to be a real little fighter named Harley.

Good morning all.
Welcome to the Crafty Sentiments Designs New Release Blog Hop. I hope you are all having a wonderful time hopping along with us today, if you arrived here from Jo's blog you are on the right track, however if you just stumbled across my blog and want to start at the beginning then please head over to the Crafty Sentiments Challenge Blog to start.
The Blog Hop will run for one week ending on the January 12th so you have plenty of time to join in. There will be 3 prizes up for grabs too, to be in the running for a prize which will be drawn at random from all comments received you need to ensure you comment on all blogs along the way.

Our theme for this blog hop is 'Anything goes' so you should see some different creations along the way.
For this card I used one of the new release digi stamps 'Blitz With Presents' isn't she adorable. I also made a pillow gift box to go with it below using just the top part of the stamp. The pillow box was cut on the Cricut using with Wedding Solutions cartridge. All the papers are from an old Papermania pack called 'Blueberry Hill'.
Here is the set together.
I couldn't resist also making a card with another of the new release digi images called 'Lilly'. She is just so cute. I wanted to do something a little different with her because she was so cute I didn't think she needed much embellishing so made an 'Z' shaped card.
This is the card closed (sorry the photo is a little blurry I think it must of sprung open as I took the photo lol)
Here is another view of it opened out so you can see the beautiful sentiment. The sentiment is from the 'Birthday Circles' set also from Crafty Sentiments Designs.
The present was cut on the Cricut using the Disney Pooh & Friends cartridge. All the papers and words are from the DCWV 'Adhesive Paper Collection'.
A better view of the sentiment circle.

So you have seen Blitz and Lilly here today which are both available for sale as of now along with Patches & Stitch have you come across those yet? keep a look out as they are also way too adorable to miss out on.

Right that is all from me so now it is time for you to hop on over to Pinky and see what wonderful design's she has come up with.
