Good afternoon all thanks for stopping by.
I am still playing catch up with all my orders from when I was flat on my back and so trying to make them to fit challenges as I go. When I saw the challenge over at Flaunt It Friday was to use the 'skull and cross bones' cut from Mini Monster's it reminded me my god son had asked for a new door plaque for his 'big boys bedroom'. He is only three and having a Pirates of the Caribbean theme room.
I don't have the Mini Monsters cartridge so look to see where else I could find the necessary part, I only had one on Pooh & Friends and really didn't like it. So I found this image on the internet and turned it in an SVG cutting file in Sure Cuts Alot 2.
The plaque is 10 1/2" long by 7 3/4" tall. I made the black base by welding two shapes together in SCAL 2, then cut them from chipboard first and cardstock on top. I added enamel accents to the eye patch and tooth to make them shine and stand out.
Supplies:-
Chipboard - Crunchy Nut Cornflakes Box
Cardstock - Bazzill
Gloss Shine - Ranger 'Enamel Accents' in Black & White.
Cricut - Provocraft
SCAL 2 - Craft Edge
Cricut Cuts:-
Plaque - 10 1/2" x 7 3/4"
Skull & Crossbones - 5 1/2"
Lettering - Name 1 7/8" Room 1 1/2"
With the left over piece after cutting Inuka I made this bookmark as he has just started to bring his reading book home from nursery and thought he may like it. I was going to put the same skull on the back of it but wasn't sure the teacher would appreciate it in the classroom!!
I made a door plaque for his sister my god daughter just a little while ago but she now tells me she needs a new one like her brother's but with Hello Kitty on it so watch this space lol.
