Passion For Promarkers, Friday Sketchers, Stamp Something, One Stop Crafts & Charisma Crafts Challenges.

Well this has to be a first for me I have managed to get five challenges into one card. The challenges I have chosen are:-
One Stop Crafts - Oh So Fruity - Strawberries
Stamp Something - Embellished Something - Flowers, gems & accents
Charisma Cardz - Rubbernecker week any theme any style
& last but by no means least
Passion For Promarkers - Moss Green, Poppy Red & include something tasty - Strawberries.
I didn't have any stamps with fruit on them and the only tasty thing I had was some cupcake stamps and backing papers so I improvised. I had this stamped image of Tilda which had cherries on her dress but as I couldn't find any cherry backing paper to go with it I decided to make her cherries into Strawberries to go with the strawberry backing paper I found.
Please don't look too closely at Tilda's face as my Promarkers have bled with the ink, the image was sent to me and I don't know what it was stamped with but my Promarkers didn't like it lol.

Supplies:-

Backing paper - Alan & Barry's Free download

Mat & layers - Paper Mill shop

Stamp - Tilda 'cherry dress'

Medium - Promarkers

Dies - Spellbinders 'floral accents' Sizzix 'flower #6'

Punch Xcut Small & Midi 'daisy'.

Thanks for looking and for your lovely comments left.

Stamping For The Weekend Challenge

Whilst I was staying with my mum it was her birthday and she received a lovely card from my cousin and his family. The card had been made by his 9 year old daugther Olivia. Now Olivia has only been crafting a short time and is really enjoying it so I thought I would send her some of my crafty extra's along with some images, so the challenge over at Stamping For the Weekend has arrived just in time. Where Have I Been & Why No Blogging.

As I said yesterday I would let you know today why i have not been blogging. Firstly we had the tragic death of a family friend who died in a car accident on her grand daughter's 3rd birthday just hours after we had left them at the party. Because the accident was caused by the husband of this lady and there was no other cars involved he has been arrested for dangerous driving (he himself does not remember what actually happened and being a doctor he was never one to speed and always had a very alert mind and not likely to have fallen asleep), therefore the funeral has taken ages to sort out as the police would not release the body. The funeral finally took place on the 10th June which would of been the lady's 59th birthday, it was a lovely service with the chapel full to bursting point. We now have to wait for the court case which is set for the 6th July but I have a feeling that it may be adjurned as crown prosecution are still trying to piece the incident together.
As the funeral was held half way between my house and my parents (2 and a half hours away) my husband decided to surprise me and take me to my parents for a week so that HE could have a rest and get on with some things he wanted to do, now I know that sounds a bit off but as he has to do most things for me and because he works full time (just across the road I have to add so he can pop home when needed lol) his days off are always taken up with shopping and housework so this way he gets to do things for himself and I got to be spoiled for a week!!!!
Having come home things have not got any better as my daughter has been in tears for the last few days following the death of her very dear close friend, the friend had Cystic Fybrosis so it was always inevitable that she would die young but it came sooner than expected at the age of 19. I think when you are only 20 yourself it must hit you extremely hard to see someone younger than you slip away so quickly especially as this is the only person my daughter has known to die apart from very elderly relatives.
So there you are, I am now preparing for the next bombshell to hit us!!!!!!

One Card Swap for May

During May I took part in a 'One Card Swap' event that was set up by a lovley lady named Teri Suzuki. The idea is as it says that you send one card only no adding any extras. Teri runs this every month, you can sign up on her blog and then she pairs everyone up. For May my pair was Teri herself.
Now having been following her blog beforehand I knew how beautiful her work was and what wonderful tutorials she has done, but then the card arrived and wow it is so much better in real life.
Pop on over to her blog 'Big Ideas From A Little Girl' and have a look at her gorgeous work. This double shaker card that I received is one of her specialities and she has a great tutorial on how to make them.
The card I received
The card I made for Teri
Knowing I have a limited amount of stamps I was not sure what to make for Teri. When I read her blog she always seems to be rushing from one thing to the next, be it work, craft classes or taking her son here and there but she always seems so bright and cheerful in everything she does.
I decided on using this DCWV card as it is so nice and bright and feel it represents Teri character.
Thanks for looking and do pop over and see Teri's blog.

Sketch Saturday Challenge & Dustin Pike Blog Candy

Over on Dustin Pike's Blog he is offering some lovely prizes as candy BUT there is a catch you have to make a card to send to a child on Postpals. Now as most you probably know by now this is a really worthwhile cause, if you have not heard of them pop on over and take a look. I for one have sent off several cards already but I could not refuse another especially as there is candy on offer.

I have used the sketch from Sketch Saturday Challenge Blog where they are celebrating their first Birthday this week. Happy Birthday to you all. There is a lovely birthday prize from 'The Craft Barn' and the design team members are each offering a giveaway themselves this week.

As I could not fit all my image onto my largest oval nestie, I printed it one white cardstock, coloured it, cut it out and then stuck the dragon to the oval and the kite higher up on the card. I used foam pads in sizes 3mm, 2mm, and 1mm to give a gradient effect and then drew in the string on myself with a black letraset fine line pen.

Sorry about the photo it looks really dull but it is actually lime green

I have used:-

6" square card blank - Craft Superstore

Backing Paper - DCWV 'Blossoms & Butterflies'

Mat & Layers - Coredinations 'So Mod'

Image - Dustin Pike freebie download

Colours - Promarkers

Sentiment - Papemania

Die - Nestabilities Large Classic Oval & Large Scalloped Oval

Ribbons - Crafty Ribbons

Punch - Xcut Ribbon Threader

Gems - Anita's Gem Wheel & moon & star from stash.

Thanks for looking and I hope you like my card, all comments welcome.
