Natalie & Amy 'Embossing' Challenge

Good morning. Firstly did you remember to put your clocks forward an hour?  Secondly wishing a Happy Mother's Day to my dear mum and all those worthy mum's out in blogland.

Ok onto business we have a new challenge for you this month at Natalie & Amy's and it is super easy 'Embossing'. This can be either heat or dry embossing the choice is yours. I ended up with dry embossing, I did try to heat emboss the sentiment but couldn't get an even coverage so gave up.

For my card today I used this cute little rubber stamp by Nellie Snellen called Christmas With Dawn but as you can see I made a birthday card. I think this image is one of those that could be used for several occasions as it has nothing specific on it to tie it. I added some stickles around the embossed part of my die cut for a little sparkle.

Good morning all. What does the weather have in store for us this weekend we have had a real mixture this week, here's hoping for sunshine. I have finally got rid of the lurgy I have had for nearly three weeks only to give it to my husband and of course his is far worse than mine lol.

Good morning all, what lovely weather we have had this week I just wonder how long it will last. Last Sunday it was so nice to be able to get out in the garden for some fresh air although going out and buying the grandchildren a trampoline was not on the agenda but hey ho they might as well have one while we have some nice weather.  However after a lovely weekend my dear grandson decided to give me his lurgy lol. By Sunday evening I had the sorest throat I have ever had, an awful earache, along with a cough and cold and there is no sign of it leaving me as yet, yuck what a gift to give lol.

Anyhow onto the matter in hand it is time for a new challenge at My Time To Craft and this week it is 'Charming', you need to use a charm somewhere on your creation. My Time To Craft 'Frame It' Challenge

Good morning again, if you came here looking for my Silhouette Challenges post it is below this one HERE

So onto today's challenge at My Time To Craft which this week is 'Frame It', we would like to see either your image or sentiment in a frame. I decided to make a style of card that I have not made before where by my sentiment in this case swivels in it's frame between the front and inside. I used a cutting file from the Silhouette Store (details in the supply list) and a freebie sentiment from Create with TLC. A few pearls added for embellishing. Oh dear if you could have seen me with those pearls, one of them just would not stick to the card yet would not come off my finger. I had to use my craft knife in the end to lift it off which is not a good thing to do with my hands as they are at the moment lol.

I have made this card for my aunt who is always coming out with sayings like this and is a little down at the moment.

This is it closed.

Here it is swinging.
Supplies:-
Card Stock - Lidl
Pearls - Home Bargains.

That's all from me, short and sweet as my hands are hurting nearly as much as my legs and my new tablets are making me feel sleepy. Oh the joys!

Please pop over and see what the other girls made, you can find them all HERE.

Silhouette 'Create Your Own Scene Card' Challenge

Good morning all, well the sun has finally found it's way through the clouds here in UK, I hope where ever you are it is getting better and not worse. This is my first post today to see my My Time To Craft post please look HERE.

For this challenge I decided to create a fish bowl card as an anniversary card for my husband, for those who don't know we keep marine fish in a tank a little bit larger than this but not quite as pretty lol.

Anyhow I made this card by first sketching my sentiment and then cutting my bowl at 8" wide by 7.25" tall, I then cut an acetate front with a flap added to the top so that it would fold over and attach to another layer that I created in white to make what I think is known as a tent fold style of card. I used 3 different cutting files for all the fun little characters, plenty of ink on all my pieces before arranging with foam pop dots to give some dimension. I did try to take a sideways photo but because of the acetate it just was not possible.

This first photo is taken before adding the acetate.

This photo has the acetate layer attached as the bubble in the top left corner shows and if you look close you can just see it along the edge on the left hand side.
Supplies:-
Card Stock - Bazzill
Acetate - Stash
Fish In Bowl #39243 by Miss Kate Cuttables, Underwater Scene #30279 & Underwater Scene #30395 both by Sarah Bailey

Please pop over and see the beautiful projects the other girls have made HERE.

Silhouette Challenges 'Special Challenge Use A Sketch File'

"Special Challenge - Use a Sketch File" over at

This is in addition to our regular monthly challenge.

DT members were not required to participate.
We have 8 participating.

Sponsor is:
My Crafting Channel

Winner will receive:
Silhouette Printable Clear Sticker Paper

For your inspiration I decided to create 2 different cards, the first uses sketch files ONLY and the second using a sketch file for the background and then the rest are cut files. Let me explain....

On the card below I used 3 different sketch files, a sketch font and the sketch drawing tool. The 3 files I used are the Vase or Jar as it is called #21430 by Silhouette, Flowers #42871 & Flowers #42822 both by Rivka's Renditions & the font is called Sketch Curly #42361 by Sweet Elsie. I then drew a square around my design and change the single line stroke in the drawing tools (these are only available in designer edition of the software), if you don't have that there are some sketch frames available in the Silhouette Store. To finish off I added a few bling stones.

Now for this card I made my background using an exclusive download image that came with my sketch pens. It has around 8 different notes in the set which I copied several times and arranged to fit my background. Next I took this regular cut file of a Guitar #53247 by Studio Ilustado and made 2 offsets of it, the first offset became my cut line around the image which I drew with my Sketch pens and the second offset made me a shadow or mat for my image. The sentiment was also created using the sketch pens and cut around in the star shape.

I decided to make the 2 different cards as there were many people who didn't know you could draw from a cut file and still be able to cut it out, others didn't know that the software had sketching pen styles of it own.

I hope this has helped clear up some of the questions I have had.

Now hop on over to see what my DT sister have created for you inspiration and to link up your Sketch File projects.

My Time To Craft 'Cats & Dogs' Challenge

Good morning all, I hope this post finds you all fit and well and well as warm and dry. I was being to think the weather had took a turn for the better but we are back to rain again here in Lincolnshire.

This is a scheduled post today as I am currently at the hospital for not only my MRI scan but also my husband has an appointment with a consultant too, we are definitely getting our monies worth out of the NHS this year!

So onto this week's challenge at My Time To Craft which is 'Cats & Dogs', you can use either or both as long as we can see them on your project.

As soon as I saw this challenge I knew what I wanted to make, I had seen this idea somewhere quite a while ago and then my daughter posted a photo on Facebook which made my mind up to make it now. It is double 12" x 12" page layout, all cut on my Silhouette Cameo with just the paw print ribbon added. I wished now I had made the dog a lighter colour and still might swap him out yet but he does look much better in real life.

Here it is as you would have it in an album.

A close up of page 1.
